A native of Naples who has a Bachelors in Psychology from Iowa State University. While in Iowa, Niki worked as a specialist with children with autism at the Baxter Early Learning Center. She then worked at the YMCA of Newton as the Coordinator of Curriculum, supervising nine educational programs. Ms. Colvin works as an Applied Behavior Clinician in ABLE Academy’s clinical program. On the weekends, you will find Niki lounging by the pool, sitting in the shade under her umbrella at the beach, enjoying the outdoors fishing and camping with scouts, coaching soccer or starting a random dance party with her sons just for fun. Niki faces every with her personal motto ~ life's too short not to be ridiculous once in awhile, so don't be afraid to have fun.
Dr. Colleen Cornwall
Founder of ABLE Academy and Applied Behavioral Learning Enterprises, lives every day by her personal mantra, “Pursue Passion, Inspire Through Action.” She is a Nationally Board Certified Behavior Analyst who has been practicing ABA since 1996. Colleen holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Emotional/Behavioral Disturbances and Communication, a Master of Science in Varying Exceptionalities Education with an emphasis in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), and a Doctorate of Education in Special Education with an emphasis in Curriculum Design. As a classroom teacher, Colleen worked with students with disabilities varying from severe emotional disorders to mental handicaps. Colleen also served as the Lead Behavior Analyst for Collier County Public Schools. In this role, Colleen developed behavioral interventions for children served in all exceptional student education programs ranging from Pre-K Developmental Disabilities to Learning Disabled to Autism/Asperger’s Syndrome, providing hands-on training to educators and parents and individualized behavior therapy to students. As a national consultant, Colleen has assisted school districts, private schools and training facilities in developing group and individual behavior change programs and early intervention programs, providing assessment, program development and regularly scheduled consultations. With a particular interest in children and adults with limited verbal repertoires, Colleen has also been instrumental in assessing and developing individualized Verbal Behavior programs for children and adults including assessment program development and regularly scheduled consultations. In 2013, Colleen co-authored an assessment and curriculum with colleagues, Dr. Patrick McGreevy and Troy Fry, entitled Essential for Living. In 2013, Colleen was awarded with the Gulfshore Business 40 Under 40 Award which recognizes individuals in the southwest Florida community whose work has made an impact on the local community. Colleen is the proud mother of a son, Zachary, a daughter, Julia, and the lucky wife of her high school sweetheart, Josh, who has been and continues to be instrumental in the growth of ABLE Academy.
Whose personal mission statement is “To Know My Purposes in Life, and to Pursue them with Confidence, Dedication and Passion,” graduated cum laude earning a Bachelor of Arts in Emotional and Behavioral Disorder Education from Florida Gulf Coast University. Kimberly is both a certified teacher and a Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst and has been working with children with developmental disabilities, severe emotional disorders, as well as behavior disorders in home and school settings in Naples since 1998. Kimberly is the Operations Manager at ABLE Academy and also provides direct services to clients. When Kimberly is not working at ABLE Academy, she enjoys spending time with her family, enjoying live music, and spending time on the beach.
Janelle holds a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Psychology from Misericordia University in Pennsylvania. She recently completed her Masters in Counseling degree with a concentration in Mental Health from Nova Southeastern University. She has been working with children since the age of 15 as a camp counselor. Upon earning her bachelor’s degree, she began working for an agency with children diagnosed with autism both in home and in school settings. Janelle is seeking board certification.
Cassie, a Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst, holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Family Studies from the University of New Hampshire. She relocated to Naples in 2009 for what was supposed to be a brief stint away from the harsh New England weather. Then, she joined the ABLE family and the rest is history! Cassie provides direct services and case management to clients, including parent training, and facilitates program development and growth. Her status as a lifelong member of the special needs community- both of her brothers have developmental disabilities- affords her a nonpareil approach to the services she provides. She believes: “Life and work, and life and love, are not irrespective of each other. They are intrinsically linked. We have to strive to do extraordinary work, we have to strive to find extraordinary love. Only then will we tap into an extraordinarily blissful life.” (~Bianca Sparacino)
Practices her personal motto everyday ~ “She who persists prevails” ~ received her Masters degree in Counseling with an emphasis in Applied Behavior Analysis from Nova Southeastern University. Jen is a Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst and Coordinator of STAR Outreach Services. Jen has been a part of the ABLE team since 1999. Ms. Schaaff specializes in the treatment of clients with problem behavior, developmental delays including autism, and clients with limited language repertoires. Jen provides direct service and supervision in seven local childcare centers as well as working closely with the teachers and parents in each center to share her knowledge of applying behavior analysis and verbal behavior into general education classrooms. Jen is a member of ABLE Academy's Leadership Team.
Received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology from Hamilton College and her Masters Degree in Advanced Applied Behavior Analysis from Nova Southeastern University. Ms. Koch is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst who has experience working with individuals with special needs in school, home, and community settings since 2003. Kristine provides direct service to clients, parent training, and staff supervision and support. Kristine's daily mission is to have a positive impact on those around her, whether it be clients, parents of clients, or other staff members, and she strives to make each day better than the last!
Jennifer is a nationally board certified behavior analyst who holds a Masters Degree in Advanced Applied Behavior Analysis from Nova Southeastern University and a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Skidmore College. Jennifer is also a registered yoga instructor and when assessing and treating clients, she incorporates principles from each of these domains. Jennifer has been a member of the ABLE Academy team for several years and serves in the capacity of Coordinator of Early Intervention Services. Jennifer is an essential member of the leadership team providing direct services to clients, parent training, program development and training and supervision to other members of Team ABLE.
Britteny is a Board Certified Behavior Technician who has been working in the field of Applied Behavior Analysis since 2014. Studying psychology and behavior analysis in her undergraduate program, she found a passion for helping children who require specialized services. From working in an emotionally disabled classroom to providing 1:1 and small group therapy in a clinical facility, to working at a court ordered rehabilitation center for juveniles, she has been involved in many programs to help youth better themselves. She lives by the motto “Be who you needed when you were younger.” When not at work, you can find Britteny at the beach with her dog named Chef, enjoying open mic nights, exploring art walks, or cooking fresh meals for her family.
Grace graduated in 2011 with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology along with a minor in Child Development from Florida State University. While pursuing her Bachelor's degree in 2007, Grace began working as a teacher in the Child Development center setting and has been working with children ever since. Always excited to apply effective teaching methods with the students' individual needs in mind, ABLE Academy is an ideal setting to apply her studies and experience. Working as an Applied Behavior Clinician grants her the opportunity to continue encouraging children to adopt healthy, positive, and enthusiastic attitudes towards learning while instilling a sense of self confidence. In her free time, Grace enjoys illustrating, food, canoing, dancing, crafting, listening to music, travel, and family gatherings.
Yara Perez Del Castillo
Yara graduated from the University of South Florida with a bachelor’s degree in psychology in 2015. During her years at the University of South Florida Yara volunteered for Habitat for Humanity. Her passion for helping others motivates her to learn new ways in which she can make a difference everyday. Yara is currently seeking board certification. She lives by her personal motto, “inspiration exists, but it must find you working”.
Jason is a Naples Native and graduate of Edison State College. Jason has worked with area children since 1995, beginning at Collier County Public Schools. In 2005, he worked at Youth Haven's Emergency Shelter serving southwest Florida’s abused, abandoned, and neglected children. Jason was previously the Activities Coordinator, Youth Care Coordinator, and Shelter Manager before joining the ABLE team. He has also coached high school football in the area since 1995 and is currently the Assistant Head Coach at St. John Neumann High School. Jason firmly believes, "If you don't pick up the ball and run with it, someone else will."
Aubrey is a graduate of Michigan State University where she earned a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education with an emphasis in language development. Passionate about children with varying learning needs, Aubrey was an active volunteer in the Michigan Special Olympics program for over ten years. Currently enrolled in a Master in Behavior Analysis program, Aubrey plans to add Board Certification to her current teaching certification. Aubrey joins the Early Intervention team with a wealth of knowledge and the personal belief that children are only limited by the boundaries that other place upon them.
Originally from Rhode Island, Alicia holds a Bachelor's of Science degree in Elementary Education from Lynn University. She has been teaching children of all ages and abilities since 2007. In addition to her teaching experience, she also has experience providing one-on-one therapy in both the home and community settings for children diagnosed with autism and other developmental disabilities. Alicia strives to meet the needs of each and every individual child.
Joining ABLE Academy as a volunteer his freshman year of high school, Jake found a true passion for working with individuals with unique needs. After two summers of volunteering, Jake began working part-time during high school as an after care support staff. Jake graduated high school in 2015 and currently attends Florida Southwestern State College, where he continues to pursue his career in Special Education. Completing his certification as a Registered Behavior Technician in December, Jake has worked with the Intensive Academic program in varying capacities.
A native of Southwest Florida, Jake enjoys fishing and spending time with friends and family on the weekends.
Annie's mission is to create a will to learn and help every child find their own way. She began working with children in 2007 and received her Bachelor of Arts & Science in Psychology from Capital University (Columbus, OH) in 2011. Annie began working with children in 2007 and was thrilled to join the ABLE team in 2013 as an Applied Behavior Clinician. Ms. Marcum is in pursuit of her Masters Degree and is a certified Suzuki Method instructor.
